Jukeboxes and Bob Marley

I miss the old times where you could walk into a diner and for 5 cents get a bottle of pop and play your favorite old Elvis tune. Then again, I never lived through that time period, so who am I to relate to it? I just wish gum-balls were a penny and people still rode their bikes to school. ...Unless people still do that.
Eh, life is life these days, what can I say? I like to be independent and I truly honor any woman who can do that these days. The ethics of Hilary Clinton and Susan B. Anthony feel like things I can relate to. I also am glad that shopping made me happy this weekend? Then again, what girl does not love it?

Mendelian genetics. That's what is buzzing around in my head, as well as WWI, which we are beginning in A.P. US History on Monday. Joy to the world.

Hmm. Maybe Thai food sounds good tonight? As a child, for some odd reason, I would always interrelate Thai food with Bob Marley. I think it has to do with a certain anecdote of mine. You see, when I was about six years old, that was three years after I moved to America, I lived in a community very concentrated with numerous people with an Indian heritage and background. I'm not really complaining about it, but I would like to add that I am much more content with where I live now. Back to the story, my parents have a long-standing tradition of ordering food on Friday nights-- it still goes on until the present day. One summer evening in the past, Friday night came along, and I had seen an ad for Thai food hung on our apartment door knob. I asked my mother about it, since I had never seen this type of food before (there were pictures on the menu). My dad proceeded to order from the restaurant, and what I recall most prominently is that when the delivery man arrived, I had heard reggae music flow from the speakers of his beat up Toyota. I remember smiling.

So, that's basically the reason why I juxtapose the two in my mind.

Do you ever wish your life could be as easy-going as reggae music itself? Smooth and flowing, just like the lazy beat of the song, and the mellow voice of the singer...

Anyway, have a fantastic evening.
